UK PM Johnson: There may be some extra precautions we still have to take

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Thursday that they will set out what step four of easing coronavirus restrictions will look like and added that there may be some extra precautions they still have to take, per Reuters. 

"We're seeing a big increase in cases but that is not translating into a big increase in deaths," Johnson added. "The vaccine rollout does appear to have broken the link between."

Market reaction

These comments don't seem to be having a noticeable impact on market sentiment. As of writing, the UK's FTSE 100 Index was up 0.55% on the day at 7,076.
