ECB's Lagarde: Strong policy support to continue well into economic recovery

Christine Lagarde, President of the Europen Central Bank (ECB), reiterated on Thursday that the strong policy support will continue to provide a bridge over the pandemic and well into the economic recovery, as reported by Reuters.

"The ECB is committed to preserving favourable financing conditions throughout this period," Lagarde added.

Market reaction

These comments don't seem to be having a noticeable impact on the shared currency's performance against its major rivals. As of writing, the EUR/USD pair was virtually unchanged on a daily basis at 1.2212.
