BoJ to clarify readiness to ramp up ETF buying when markets turn volatile – Reuters

The Bank of Japan (BoJ) may clarify its readiness to ramp up ETF buying when markets turn volatile as part of the March review of monetary policy tools, Reuters reported on Thursday, citing three sources familiar with the matter.

"The idea is emerging within the BoJ to remove some of its numerical guidelines on ETF purchases at March review," sources added.

Market reaction

The USD/JPY pair showed no immediate reaction to this headline and was last seen trading at 105.75, where it was down 0.1% on a daily basis.
