Key events on Friday - Westpac
FXStreet (Bali) - Sean Callow, FX Strategist at Westpac, reviews the key events for this Friday.
Key Quotes
"Australia’s busy data week concludes with May housing finance at 11:30am Syd/9:30am Sing/HK. Approvals have cooled notably this year, which should continue in May with a -0.5% fall. This is in line with consensus as usual, given that banks have industry data on lending. This report rarely surprises greatly and shouldn’t impact AUD unless it is strikingly weak."
"In Asia, we will see India’s May industrial production while June exports are due starting from today. China also will release June data on FX reserves and new lending in a 5 day window ending Tuesday. China’s big data day is Tue: Q2 GDP and June activity data. Canada releases Jun employment data while in the US we will hear more from the Fed: dovish Chicago Fed president Evans and centrist Atlanta Fed president Lockhart."
