ECB's Visco: Chances of risk of deflation more than halved compared to March

Chances of a risk of deflation have "more than halved" compared to March, European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council member Ignazio Visco argued on Tuesday, as reported by Reuters.

Visco further noted that he expects to see an increase in non-performing loans but added that the current estimates are exaggerated.

Market reaction

These comments don't seem to be having a significant impact on the shared currency's performance against its rivals. As of writing, the EUR/USD pair was up 0.04% on a daily basis at 1.1785.
