Wall Street recovered ground on Friday but posted weekly losses
FXStreet (San Francisco) - The US stocks market rose on Friday as major indexes recovered from earlier losses to close with minimal gains. However, Wall Street closed the week mostly negative ahead of the monthly close on Monday.
The Dow Jones advanced 5.71 points or 0.03% to finish the day at 16,851.84; but 0.47% negative in the week. The S&P 500 rose 3.75 points or 0.19% to close at 1,960.97; negative 0.07% in the week.
The Nasdaq climbed 18.88 points or 0.43% in the day to close at 4,397.93; the Composite posted its second winning week with 0.67% advance in the last 5 session days.
