Germany: Annual CPI up 1% in June

FXStreet (Łódź) - According to preliminary data released today by Destatis, German annual inflation rose 1.0% in June, following 0.9% growth registered the previous month. This result is in line with analysts' forecasts. On a monthly basis German CPI edged up 0.3% in June, after sliding 0.1% in May, above consensus of +0.2%.

Year-over-year German HICP rose 1.0% in June, up from 0.6% in May. On a monthly basis HICP climbed 0.4%, following a 0.3% fall.

Weakness in Japanese economy should be temporary - BNP Paribas

Raymond Van Der Putten from BNP Paribas comments on the Japanese economic data released on Thursday, which showed a rise in inflation and a drop in consumer spending, saying that the weakness in the economy should be temporary.
