BoE's Bean: Interest rate hikes should be welcomed
FXStreet (Bali) - Bank of England deputy governor Charlie Bean said over the weekend that said that higher interest rates should be welcomed, which should be interpreted as a symbolic step along the road to recovery.
Bean added: “I would welcome us getting back on the path of normalisation, as a demonstration that the economy is healing. Frankly, having interest rates at an emergency level for a very long time is not a situation one wants to be in.”
