US stocks end week with gains and record
FXStreet (Córdoba) - Wall Street closed positive for the third consecutive session on a reduce session. The Dow Jones advanced 65 points or 0.40% to close at 16,609; the Nasdaq rose 32 points or 0.76% to 4,186 while the S&P 500 gained 9 point to finish at 1,900.88, a new record. The three rose for the week, with the technological index up more than 2%.
It was a low volume day, ahead of a long weekend. Better-than-expected housing data help stocks on Friday. Wall Street will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day.
Crude oil extended gains and finished above $104 at 1-month highs while gold fell slightly and ended above $1,290 an ounce.
