Italy’s Deputy PM Salvini: Govt proposes tax on savings hidden in safety deposit boxes
Italian newspapers quoted Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Matteo Salvini, as saying that Italy’s government may tax cash and other valuables locked away in safety deposit boxes held with banks, as reported by Reuters.
Salvini said: “Money that is substantially hidden,” suggesting that deposit boxes were a way of hiding income and assets from the tax authorities.
