Japan household spending posts biggest drop in nearly a year: Reuters
Japan household spending dropped 0.9 percent year-on-year in February - its biggest annual in nearly a year, indicating low wage growth is undermining consumption expenditure. The spending was expected to rise 0.3 percent following a 1.9 percent increase in January.
Further, labor ministry data released today showed real wages fell 0.5 percent in February from the same period a year ago. So, household spending will likely remain weak in the near future.
