Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) official told Reuters on Wednesday, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe is preparing for a meeting with the US President Trump on April 18 to hold talks and develop a strategy ahead of a proposed meeting between North Korean and US leaders.

The official with the knowledge of the matter said that Abe is expected to ask Trump to exempt Japan from his steel and aluminum tariffs.
