US govt to borrow nearly $ trillion in 2018 - Washington Post

Washington Post report says the US government is set to borrow nearly $1 trillion in 2018, signaling an 84 percent jump from the last year.

The Treasury expects to borrow $955 billion - the biggest borrowing figure in six years. Further,  the report from Congressional Budget Office released last week said the tax receipts are going to be lower because of the new tax law.

The additional borrowing (deficit concerns) and prospects of higher inflation seem to have spooked bond markets, sending the yield on the 10-year treasury note to its highest level since 2014.
