Chicago Fed: National Activity Index points to a pickup in economic growth in Dec

"Led by improvements in production-related indicators, the Chicago Fed National Activity Index (CFNAI) moved up to +0.27 in December from +0.11 in November," the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago reported on Monday. 

Key highlights

Two of the four broad categories of indicators that make up the index increased from November, and three of the four categories made positive contributions to the index in December.

The index’s three-month moving average, CFNAI-MA3, ticked down to +0.42 in December from +0.43 in November.
