Trump to nominate Quarles for Fed's top regulatory post - BBG

President Donald Trump plans to nominate Randal Quarles, a senior Treasury official in the Bush administration, according to Bloomberg News' Robert Schmidt  and Jennifer Jacobs.

Key highlights:

• Quarles would be expected to play a pivotal role in carrying out Trump’s pledge to ease some of the regulatory constraints
• The selection would reflect “the pendulum shifting from tougher regulation to neutral,” Mike Mayo, an independent bank analyst, said in a Monday interview with Bloomberg Television
• White House spokeswoman Natalie Strom and a spokeswoman for Quarles didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment
