Wall Street closes mixed in a swing day

FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - The US stocks market closed mixed on Friday as indexes were moving in swings and combining positive and negative numbers throughout the session. Investors were paying attention to Fed's official speeches.

Fed's Bernanke shows a hawkish but pro-taper vision. Ben Bernanke said the recovery is still incomplete, the unemployment still elevated, and the taper does not mean the reduction of the Fed commitment to low rates.

The Dow Jones advanced 28.64 points or 0.17% to finish the day at 16,469.99. The Dow ended the week with 1.53% gains. The S&P 500 declined 0.61 pts or 0.03% to finish at 1,831.37; 0.72% positive in the week.

And finally, the Nasdaq eased 11.16 pts or 0.27% to 4,131.91; the Composite posted 0.66% weekly gains.
