European stocks weaker at open, Oil slide, earnings weigh
The stocks on the European bourses opened weaker this Wednesday, extending losses from the previous session as sentiment remains weighed down by ongoing weakness in oil prices.
Moreover, a negative close on the Asian and US stocks also capped the traders on the back foot. Meanwhile, investors will keep an eye on the corporate earnings results, which will be driving moves in the European markets later today.
Germany's DAX 30 index drops -0.27% to 10,730 levels, while the UK's FTSE 100 index loses -0.41% to 7,000 mark. Among the other indices, the French CAC 40 index trades -0.35% at 4,525, while the pan-European Euro Stoxx 50 index trading marginally lower below 31k barrier.
