ECB near to consensus on need to taper QE - BBG
The European Central Bank said they will not comment on speculations, however they stated that ECB President Draghi has made it clear that the council has not discussed tapering QE program.
This cames in response to a Bloomberg report published Tuesday saying that the ECB is near to consensus on ending its bond-buying program before it concludes in March 2017.
QE tapering scenarios could include slowing purchases by EUR 10 billion per month, Bloomberg reported, citing euro-zone central-bank officials.
"Less than six months before the program's earliest end-date of March 2017, an informal consensus has built among policy makers in the past month that asset buying will have to be tapered, the officials said, asking not to be identified because their deliberations are confidential," BBG wrote.
