Fed’s Lockhart: Question of when, not if Fed raises rates again

Atlanta President Dennis Lockhart, said Thursday he is comfortable hiking at one of the coming meetings and they need to reinforce the idea that November is a ‘live meeting.’

Speaking at  the Future of Florida Forum in Orlando, Lockhart said that it is a question of “when, not if” the Fed will have a second hike, if the upcoming data confirms his outlook. Jobs market is close to meeting the Fed's goal, he said.

Lockharts also said he shares the concerns of other Fed members about waiting too long to hike.
