USD/RUB plummets to 65.00, fresh 2-day low

The Russian Ruble is picking up further pace today,  now dragging USD/RUB to fresh daily lows in the boundaries of the 65.00 handle.

USD/RUB lower on Brent recovery

RUB is appreciating further today after the barrel of Brent crude is advancing nearly 3% to levels just below the $47.00 mark today, relegating spot to return to the area of the 65.00 handle and print fresh 2-day lows at the same time.

In the meantime, the pair keeps the upper end of the recent range between 65.00 and 66.00, always against the backdrop of s stronger greenback and choppy crude oil dynamics.

USD/RUB levels to watch

At the moment the pair is losing 1.10% at 65.19 facing the next support at 64.65 (20-day sma) followed by 64.24 (low Aug.26) and finally 63.41 (low Aug.18). On the other hand, a break above 66.29 (high Jun.14) would open the door to 67.15 (high Jul.29) and then 68.85 (200-day sma).
