US private sector employment increases by 177,000 in August - ADP

US private sector added 177,000 new jobs in August, Automatic Data Processing reported Wednesday.

The reading came in slightly above expectations of 175,000 new jobs but down from an upwardly revised gain of 194,000 in July (174,000 previously estimated).

The private-sector report comes two days before the Government nonfarm payrolls report, which is expected to show a 180,000 job gain in August.
