China: Trade data and GDP numbers to guide this week - TDS

Research Team at TDS, suggests that this week in China we have June trade data on Wednesday and Q2 GDP on Friday.

“We expect to see a narrowing of the trade surplus in June to $45.3bn (consensus: $45.65bn) via a higher import bill (although weaker compared with a year ago) while exports track sideways compared with May, to be 5% below levels of a year ago.

We expect Q2 GDP growth of 6.8% Y/Y (consensus: 6.6%), with PMI and activity indicators remaining buoyant in Q2 compared with Q1. The addition of new “categories” of growth this time around will also assist.”
