Ex-ECB chief Trichet: Britain played Russian roulette with EU

In an interview with Handelsblatt published on Monday, former ECB chief Jean-Claude Trichet warned the Euro zone economies against playing "Russian roulette" by putting their membership in the bloc up for a national referendum like the United Kingdom.

Mr. Trichet spoke on several issues such as the consequences of Britain’s vote to leave the European Union, how to reform the euro zone, and why he defends the controversial monetary policies adopted by his successor, Mario Draghi.
