EUR/USD holds near 1.1400 after US data

EUR/USD remained pretty steady in the 1.1400 area, near daily highs, following the release of a string mixed US data.

Data showed, US initial jobless claims fell to 259K last week versus 270K expected. On the other hand, Chicago Fed National Activity index missed expectations coming in at -0.51 against +0.11 of consensus. 

EUR/USD moved a tad higher and rose briefly above 1.1400 but quickly returned to pre-data levels. At time of writing, the pair was trading at 1.1395, recording a 0.89% gain on the day.

All attention remains on the UK referendum underway, with bets of a ‘Bremain’ increasing over the last hours. 

EUR/USD levels to watch

As for technical levels, EUR/USD could find next resistances at 1.1428 (May 12 high), 1.1446 (May 11 high) and 1.1477 (100-week SMA). On the flip side, supports are seen at 1.1238 (100-day SMA), 1.1130 (Jun 16 low) and 1.1102 (200-day SMA).
