Canada’s GDP grows 2.4% in Q1

Canada's gross domestic product expanded at a 2.4% annualized rate in the first quarter of 2016 to CAD 1.78 trillion, Statistics Canada said Tuesday. Exports were the largest contributor to real GDP growth in the first quarter.

This comes after a downwardly revised 0.5% advance in the fourth quarter 2015, but below market consensus of a 2.9% increase.
