Euro area HICP to come in at -0.1% y/y - TDS
Research Team at TDS, sees scope for the euro area-wide number to disappoint market expectations of a flat print.
Key Quotes
“France is out first, and we expect euro area HICP to come in at -0.1% y/y later on in the morning. But with the ECB still implementing new measures, near-term surprises for inflation should matter less for markets.
Euro area GDP growth is also out (and France and Spain too), and here we see downside risks, with a slight deterioration from 15Q4’s 0.3% q/q growth rate to 0.2% q/q against consensus for a pick-up in the pace to 0.4% q/q.”
