European stocks drop as energy shares falter

Major stock markets across Europe are trading lower today as energy counters are taking a beating after failure of Doha talks saw oil benchmarks suffer sharp losses.

At the time of writing, Germany’s DAX was down 0.48%. France’s CAC was down 0.66% as well. Meanwhile, UK’s mining heavy FTSE is also trading 0.60% lower on the day. The broader Stoxx 600 index traded 0.60% lower.

Norway’s Statoil and Subsea 7 were down 3.5% each. In UK, Anglo American, Petrofac, Antofagasta were ruling the losers list. Germany’s Dialog was down 4% as well. Meanwhile, travel stocks like Thomas Cook and TUI were up 3.12% and 2.21% respectively.
