Wall Street cheers Senate deal and hopes the House will approve it
FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - The US stocks market jumped on Wednesday as Senate reached bipartisan agreement on debt ceiling and government shutdown. The agreement would be voted by the Senate around 8pm ET and the House at 11 ET tonight. Then Barack Obama must sign the final bill.
The Dow Jones rallied 205.82 points or 1.36% to finish the day at 15,373.83; The S&P 500 jumped 23.48 points or 1.38% to 1,721.54; and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 45.42 pts or 1.20% to close the session at 3,839.43.
