USD/CAD climbs to highs near 1.3180
FXStreet (Edinburgh) - The greenback continues to appreciate vs. its Canadian counterpart on Monday, with USD/CAD eyeing highs near 1.3180.
USD/CAD closer to post-NFP tops
Spot left the area of 1.3140 during the Asian session and has gathered further traction towards the upper-1.3100s, near peaks reached following July’s Payrolls in the US economy last Friday (215K).
Without data releases in Canada, the Fed’s Labour Market Conditions Index will grab all the attention in the US docket, ahead of speeches by Fischer and Lockhart.
USD/CAD key levels
At the moment the pair is up 0.27% at 1.3169 with the next resistance at 1.3183 (high Aug.10) ahead of 1.3199 (high Aug.5) and finally 1.3215 (2015 high Aug.5). On the other hand, a breach of 1.3103 (low Aug.4) would open the door to 1.2940 (low Jul.31) and then 1.2955 (low Jul.30).
