German services PMI signals a slight acceleration in June

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The final Markit Germany Services Business Activity Index ticked higher to 53.8 from 53.00 in May.

The slight acceleration in the activity is partly attributed to increased sales activities and new projects. The new business placed with German service providers increased at a weaker rate. Service sector firms continued to increase their workforce numbers in June.

Input costs at German service sector firms rose due to reports of higher staff costs and increased fuel prices. However, the rate of charge inflation eased slightly since one month previously.
