Greece presents latest proposal to EU leaders

FXStreet (Bali) - Over the weekend, Greek Prime Minister Tsipras, following phone conversations with European leaders, released an official statement, wits the latest proposal to EU for a potential deal ahead of Monday´s make-or-break summit meeting.

The statement, released by the PM's office, read: "The Prime Minister presented the three leaders (Merkel,Hollande and Juncker) Greece's proposal for a mutually beneficial agreement that will give a definitive solution and not postpone addressing the problem."

As Reuters reports: "Greece's leftwing government believes it can reach a deal with its creditors, Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis said on Sunday after almost eight hours of meetings to thrash out proposals ahead of a last-ditch summit with European leaders on Monday. Asked by reporters if he was confident of reaching an agreement, Varoufakis said: "Always, we're heading toward a deal." He gave no details."
