US equities edge higher Friday though Dow still below 15000

FXstreet.com (New York) - The US stock market experienced positive gains across the board Friday, lacking a stimulus from US economic data.

Beginning with the indices and composites, today the NASDAQ rose +0.49% as it settles in region of 3656.54, up +17.49 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in positive territory, operating at 1661.04, ascending +4.18 points or +0.25% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved higher at the opening, trading in the zone of 14977.25, presently +0.25% after a movement of +14.01 points.

Sectors are all higher at the opening, however the Basic Materials and Technology sectors have distinguished themselves as the winners thus far, rising +0.87% and +0.37% respectively. Moreover, the price of gold has settled at $1372.70 per oz., while silver is now negotiating a spot price of $23.12 per oz. Friday.
