BoJ and key events, over to Europe - Rabobank

FXStreet (Guatemala) - Analysts at Rabobank explained that today we have the BOJ meeting and then a Kuroda press conference.

"There is no expectation that we will see what I still believe to be an inevitable further policy easing, and presumably the governor will be watching his words closely on JPY given the gyrations he caused earlier in the week on that front."

"Then we have UK public finances, where expectations are GBP10.0bn in net borrowing, ahead of two Fed speakers, Williams, from booming San Francisco (and hence likely to be hawkish), and Mester; their rhetoric is the only event in the US today."

OCR could be 2.5% by year end - Westpac

Westpac chief economist Dominick Stephens said on Friday that he believes the NZ Official Cash Rate (OCR) will likely be at either 2.5% or 2.75% by the end of the year, following Thursday's first-quarter GDP data.

EUR/USD capped by 1.1400, Greece weighs

The shared currency remains well bid versus the US dollar in the Asian morning, with EUR/USD consolidating below 1.14 handle. Although the upside in the major remains capped by the Greece deadlock and the key resistance at one-month highs of 1.1450.
