Australian home loans beats expectations in March
FXStreet (Bali) - Australia home loans registered 1.6% in March, which is above expectations of 1%, while the investment lending for homes increased to 6.4% in March from previous -3.4%.
VALUE OF DWELLING COMMITMENTS
March 2015 compared with February 2015:
The trend estimate for the total value of dwelling finance commitments excluding alterations and additions rose 0.8%. Owner occupied housing commitments rose 0.8% and investment housing commitments rose 0.8%. In seasonally adjusted terms, the total value of dwelling finance commitments excluding alterations and additions rose 3.5%.
NUMBER OF DWELLING COMMITMENTS
March 2015 compared with February 2015:
In trend terms, the number of commitments for owner occupied housing finance rose 0.4% in March 2015. In trend terms, the number of commitments for the purchase of established dwellings rose 0.7%, while the number of commitments for the construction of dwellings fell 1.4% and the number of commitments for the purchase of new dwellings fell 0.1%. In original terms, the number of first home buyer commitments as a percentage of total owner occupied housing finance commitments fell to 14.7% in March 2015 from 15.1% in February 2015.
