Greece/EU report progress on reforms after phone call
FXStreet (Córdoba) - European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras made progress in debt talks during a phone call on Wednesday.
The two leaders “discussed the need for reforms to Greece's pension system so that it is fair, fiscally sustainable and effective in averting old-age poverty," a joint statement from Greece and the European Commission said. Juncker and Tsipras also discussed labor market and wage reforms.
The statement says that "constructive talks” should continue. Comments provided some relief and underpinned EUR/USD through the 1.13 level as deal for Greece looks more likely.
