German CPI in April expected to rise 0.4% year-on-year - Destatis

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The preliminary data released by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on Wednesday showed the consumer price index (CPI) is expected to be 0.4% year-on-year in April 2015 compared to the March’s 0.3% figure.

Month-on-month, the CPI fell 0.1%, compared to the previous month’s figure of 0.5%. The harmonized consumer price index for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, is expected to be up 0.3% in April 2015 on the same month a year earlier. Compared with March 2015, it is expected to be down by 0.1%.

The Destatis said the final CPI reading for April 2015 will be released on 13 May 2015.
