QE taper to begin in Sept - Bloomberg survey

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The Federal Reserve will initiate the reduction of its bond-purchase program in September, according to 50% of 54 economists in a Bloomberg News survey. Another 50% said the Fed will exit QE altogether in H2 2014.

Below are the answers to the question, when will the Federal Reserve first alter the pace of monthly purchases in its quantitative easing program (either by decreasing or increasing) from its current pace of $85 billion a month?

a) At July 30-31 FOMC meeting - 0%
b) At Sept. 17-18 FOMC meeting - 50%
c) At Oct. 29-30 FOMC meeting - 15%
d) At Dec. 17-18 FOMC meeting - 28%
e) In 2014 or later - 7%

With regards to which quarter the Fed will end its quantitative easing entirely, Economists responded:

3Q14 - 7%
1Q14 - 6%
2Q14 - 50%
3Q14 - 24%
4Q14 - 11%
4Q16 - 2%
