UK index of services increases 3.4 percent year-on-year

FXStreet (London) - The UK Index of Services is estimated to have increased by 3.4 percent in September 2014 compared with September 2013, according to the Office for National Statistics. In order of their contribution to growth: business services & finance increased by 4.6 percent; distribution, hotels & restaurants increased by 4.2 percent; transport, storage & communication increased by 4.1 percent; and government & other services increased by 1.0 percent.

The latest Index of Services estimates show that output increased by 0.5 percent between August 2014 and September 2014.
