Feds minutes showed concerns - BTMU
FXStreet (Barcelona) - FX Strategists at the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ noted the concerns within the FOMC’s minutes.
Key Quotes:
"Although the US non-farm payroll report showed further improvement and the unemployment rate fell below 6% for the first time since July 2008, the hourly earnings growth remained muted. The Fed’s view of “ significant under-utilisation” of labour resources continues to hold."
"The FOMC minutes showed that the committee deliberated over changing the communication on the timing of the first rate increase, but without an obvious replacement for “Considerable Time”, it was maintained for now, especially given concerns over the global economic outlook and signs of disinflation.
